Watercolors, Plein Air on Location: Painting City Park

Please join us as we paint in watercolors on location, in one of the most beautiful parks in New Orleans. We'll be ditching photo references, for the most part, as we begin looking, enjoying, and responding to the amazingly beautiful landscape.  Magnificent gardens, bayous, a lake with a gondola, flowers, and multiple opportunities to paint people enjoying the outdoors await us at City Park. Our focus will be on composing, drawing, and applying sequential washes, while we have fun experimenting with watercolors.

The Thursday class meets from 9 AM-12 PM, for 5 weeks.  The class is designed to present 

new information in classes one through four, and the fifth will be a summation.  Many demos will be given in each session.  Make-up classes will be scheduled in the event that inclement weather forces a cancellation.  For the first class we will meet at Morning Call (at what used to be called the Casino building).

The Saturday class will meet Saturday mornings from 9 AM-12 PM  for 

5 weeks, again meeting at City Park's Morning Call. Call for upcoming dates.
