Brenda Delle

Studio #7

BIO Continued

Here with 30+ artist studios in the building was a support group of professional artists.  When she was moving into her studio, one of the other artists told her “everyone is a part of the community here and we support each other.”The studio gave her the space to spread out her pastels, work larger and most importantly, work uninterrupted.  She says “entering the building triggers my creative juices.”

Delle has traveled extensively Mexico, Canada, Guatemala, China, Spain, Prague, Portugal, the Azores, Italy and countries bordering the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.  During her travels, she draws and studies the work of master artists.  She says time spent in Amsterdam at the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum were most influential on her work.  She also enjoyed studying the work of Alphonse Mucha in Prague.

Delle’s work has been shown in France at the Festival International du Pastel sponsored by the Societe des Pastellistes de France.  In 2015 five of her racing drawings were chosen for the University Medical Center in New Orleans.  She has won numerous awards in national and local exhibitions.  Her work has been featured in galleries in Louisiana, Kentucky and Mississippi.  It is owned by collectors from coast to coast.  She is currently in Ariodante Gallery and the Artists Collective in New Orleans.

Delle is a juried member of the Degas Pastel Society, which has international membership.  She is also an active member of the New Orleans Art Association and a charter member of the Jefferson Art Guild.
